Cycling on Exmoor
There's nowhere quite like Exmoor! For those that love to explore new places on 2 wheels, you will not be disappointed by this stunning little corner of England. There's no denying it's rather hilly, but that's what makes it unique and so special, and gives us some really fantastic views to enjoy while we catch our breath. Whatever your level of cycling, there are routes to suit all capabilities with a bit of planning.
We are hoping to build on these pages to become a useful resource for preparing your cycling holiday to Exmoor!
Road cycling on Exmoor
Exmoor offers a great variety of road cycling, there are a number of challenging hills to put you to your climbing ability to the test, but equally there's a great network of country lanes to explore when you want to take it a bit easier. Generally speaking, the roads are quite quiet too - but don't tell everyone!
If you prefer to take part in a structured event to guide you round Exmoor, there are a few sportives that usually take place annually in this area, including The Exmoor Beast, Exmoor Beauty, Porlock Hill Climb, as well as Minehead Grand Prix, a closed circuit crit race in Minehead town centre!

Mountain Biking on Exmoor
If off-roading is more your thing, there's a myriad of bridlepaths, restricted byways and permitted routes all over Exmoor to discover, over stunning terrain including open moorland, scenic valleys and ancient woodlands.
Exmoor is generally regarded as one of the best and most challenging locations for mountain biking in the country, so we don't think you'll be disappointed!
And if you don't want to pack your bike up or don't have room for it (or you fancy an e-bike to help you up the hills!) you can hire one from Exmoor Adventures.
